The story behind the name is a simple one. It’s actually a nickname or term of endearment, Clint (innkeeper) had for Juannie (innkeeper’s wife) ever since they met back in the late 70’s. So no great story! Just a silly nickname that has stayed with them for thirty- six years! So if you were wondering , as many have, if they are situated in swampy ground or in a bog! The answer is NO. Spongie Acres Bed And Breakfast has been host to 5 consecutive SPONGIE ACRES BICYCLE FESTIVALS and welcomes all bicycle enthusiasts to come and enjoy the beautiful rolling countryside scattered with horse farms, corn fields and tobacco barns. The innkeepers are avid bicyclists and have many peaceful routes available for you. Bicycle rentals are available on premise at Clint’s Bicycle Shack or bring your own.
